Head Chef Opportunity – Lead Our Unique Farm-to-Table Kitchen

We’re looking for a passionate head chef or sous chef looking to step up into a heads role and ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for someone to help lead our kitchen and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences in a truly unique setting.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a Wagyu beef farm, showcasing high-quality, locally sourced, seasonal produce and our own premium Wagyu beef. Our relaxed dining environment operates from a converted shipping container kitchen under the farms straw barn. Alongside a lively horse box café and bar, creating a welcoming and distinctive atmosphere for both staff and guests. With live music and monthly supper clubs there’s lots going on up at the farm!

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will work closely with the team to oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen and site. You’ll be hands-on, organised, and confident leading a small team while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supervising daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and presentation
  • Helping run the kitchen and ensuring smooth day-to-day service
  • Training and developing kitchen staff
  • Ordering stock and managing inventory efficiently
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
  • Supporting overall site management and teamwork across the café and bar
  • Creating and delivering seasonal menus that highlight our Wagyu beef and local produce
  • Fostering a positive, motivated, and professional kitchen culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience supervising or leading in a professional kitchen
  • Strong cooking skills with attention to detail and presentation
  • Confident leadership and team management abilities
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • A positive attitude and willingness to be hands-on
  • Passion for quality ingredients, seasonal food, and creative cooking
  • Someone reliable who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen
